The municipality of Andratx is situated in the western-most part of Mallorca, at the end of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range.

It is a coastal area with tiny coves, immense cliffs and four small islands,of which the largest is La Dragonera, declared Natural Park in 1995.

Andratx has a surface area of 82.55 kmª and an average altitude of 101 metres.It extends as far as Estellencs to the northwest and to the east as Calvià, while the sea defines the rest of the region. The distance to Palma is 27 km.

Andratx has a population of more than 11.000 inhabitants distribuating around the six villages within the municipality. In the interior are the villages of Andratx, S'arracó y Sa Coma; On the coast are Port d'Andratx, Sant Elm and Camp de Mar.

Currently, the indigenous population is mixed with other foreign citizens mainly Germans and British, who have chosen this peaceful place as their residence. It is estimated that the number of foreign residents is about 4,000 inhabitants, although the number increases considerably in summer due to tourism.
